Recently we brought together 30-40 individuals to join us for drinks after work to the Storehouse Rooftop Bar in Subiaco. The aim was simply this… to share in a night of appreciation.
Beyond the incredible sunset view across Perth City and Kings Park, it was such an uplifting night witnessing people connecting and reconnecting with one another. As a night of appreciation, it was our desire to thank a number of the people who have supported Oasis as advocates of our work and who have journeyed with us over the last 8 years.
Directors, Stuart and Clint reflected on how almost all of our clients had come to us via referrals. They emphasised how important the people in the room, and beyond, had been to us over the years and how many of them had become intertwined into a rich tapestry of connections and networks we were there to celebrate.
Quoting the words of writer Margaret Wheatley from her beautiful reading “Turning to One Another”, Stuart invited guests to:
Be brave enough to start a conversation that matters
Talk to people you know.
Talk to people you don’t know.
Talk to people you never talk to.
Be intrigued by the differences you hear.
Expect to be surprised.
The night reminded us as a team of the importance of valuing the connections we have and appreciating the people who bring life to us.
