Meet Daniel Bredenkamp, Executive Director at Pitcher Partners.
He recently completed his Enneagram questionnaire and became our 1000th Enneagram participant. Here Stuart Wesley gifts Daniel a bottle of wine to celebrate.
What is the Enneagram?
The word Enneagram comes from the Greek words ennea (nine) and gram (what is written or drawn). It refers to the nine different Enneagram styles, identified as numbers 1-9. Each number represents a worldview and archetype that resonates with your core motivations. This impacts on your personality as well as thinking, feeling and actions.
The Enneagram is a useful guide on your journey towards self-development, relationship building, conflict resolution and the improvement of team dynamics. It explores the questions that lie beneath the surface of the everyday, yet affect every interaction and experience we encounter: Who am I really? What motivates me, and how is that different to other people? How can I feel more fulfilled? Why does change sometimes seem so hard?
How does Oasis use the Enneagram?
Oasis specialises in developing capacity for more effective human interaction, to improve the health and performance of your organisation. We focus on three levels of leadership: leading self, leading teams, and leading organisations.
Leading Self: The Enneagram improves self-awareness and provides clear personal development pathways. Oasis consultants use the Enneagram in 1-to-1 coaching engagements to open doors to a more effective way of being.
Leading Teams: When team members develop a shared appreciation of each other’s Enneagram type, the differences that once created friction become the team’s greatest strength. Oasis hosts team Enneagram workshops to help teams cultivate a new way of collaborating together.
Leading Organisations: Organisations don't transform, people do. The Enneagram helps individuals understand how they instinctively respond to change, where their resistance comes from, and how to channel their unique strengths into building something better. Oasis integrates the Enneagram into organisational development initiatives to facilitate lasting change.
What people are saying
"The Enneagram discussions were really useful. A general awareness of my own Enneagram type as well as other Enneagram types has helped me understand some of my less constructive tendencies as well as understand the core motivations behind other people's behaviour."
“I have a greater awareness with people on staff and teams and how we relate and communicate effectively.”
“I have and continue to learn more about peoples Enneagram styles and am actively trying to take this into consideration during conversations and when looking at day to day behaviours of my colleagues and team. This is helping me to assess how best to approach conversations with varying team members to ensure they are comfortable in the conversation, resulting in the best outcome possible.”
