Oasis People and Culture is excited to announce that, highly skilled leadership development professional, Michael Prince has joined their team, bringing another layer of depth to the knowledge and experience of the growing consultancy practice.
A chance meeting with Oasis Director Stuart Wesley in the midst of Michael reviewing the direction of his work led to what is in some ways, a full turn of the circle. Back in the early 2000s, Michael had been a primary influence on Stuart's move into the coaching and leadership space. Some twenty years on, Michael will formally join in augmenting the initiative that those initial conversations first sparked.
The sense of alignment between Michael's values and approach to leadership development with what Stuart and fellow Oasis Director Clint Vawser have established through Oasis became quickly evident in the ensuing discussions.
With extensive experience in program design and delivery, coaching theory and practice along with business development, Michael is looking forward to helping Oasis deepen its impact, expand its reach and hone its offering in the leadership consultancy space.
Whether in Australia, Nepal, Cambodia or one of the other nine countries in which he has worked, Michael carries a deep desire to see individual leaders become courageously authentic in the way they lead. Michael shares with Oasis a sense of purpose in influencing organisations to become life-giving places in which to be.
The words of civil rights leader, philosopher and educator, Howard Thurman pointedly express the passion Michael brings to his work.
"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
For Michael, Thurman summarises what has been the heart of his life and work.
"I have always wanted to help people connect who they are with what they do. As Parker Palmer describes, it is that fit of the soul with role," says Michael. "It's also about creating workplaces that are places that bring people alive, and that gets things done."
Michael is widely regarded for the distinct blend of intelligent care, support, challenge and accountability for action he brings to his one-to-one coaching and group learning spaces. He works in ways that are practical and deep, integrating head and heart: the "outer work" (skills, performance, results) and the "inner work" (work/life balance, purpose, identity, values and relationships). He helps people lead with great integrity of character and relationship and greater clarity and rigour of thought.
Michael is passionate about using a variety of interesting and, at times surprising, tools to bring shifts in our thinking about life and leadership.
